Infection control is important for hotel owners, staff and the public. Outbreaks of Norovirus (Norwalk Virus) are an ideal example of how the public can easily bring infections into a hotel environment. Add this to the other causes of infection that are in the community such as MRSA, Clostridium Difficile, TB etc. and the fact that community acquired infections are a growing problem then it's vitally important that hotels have the methods and products in place to reduce risks and preserve the regular day to day operations.
The best way to do this is to minimise the risk in the first place and then then in unfortunate event of an infection outbreak to eliminate the cause as quickly as possible.
To do this it is necessary to train staff and also to have all of the appropriate guidance and documentation in place including an infection control procedure and manual.
Many of the janitorial type products in use simply do not do the job and it is also important to have the products in place and available.

By using the correct methods, products and information hotel owners and managers can safeguard staff and the public, reduce absenteeism, help preserve the reputation of the business and effectively save money.
